  • Abdominal pains
  • Weight loss
  • Itching around the anus

  • Seems agitated for no reason

Hookworms in Dogs and Cats:

You will be not able to see the hookworms with your naked eye. This can only be identified through a microscope. For this, you need to take the fresh stool sample to your vet to diagnose the hookworms. You will not get to see any evidence of them in your pets stool or vomit. Some of the symptoms are:

  • Weight loss
  • Blood in the stool
  • Poor development in puppies
  • Anemia
  • Pale gums
  • Irritated skin

Whipworms in Dogs and Cats:

The same goes with whipworms that you cannot see them with naked eyes and no evidence can be seen. You need to take a fresh stool sample to the vet to detect whipworms. It needs to be identified under the microscope. Symptoms that can be seen our:

  • Diarrhea
  • Stools with blood or mucus
  • Anemia
  • Weight loss
  • Flatulence
  • Lack of energy

Treatment for Worms in Dogs and Cats:

There are different type of treatments for worms which are available on the market in various forms such as

  • Tablet: These tablets may come in other flavors where your dog or cat will not hesitate to have. The branded and well know tablets for deworming pets are Drontal, Milbemax, Popantel, Veloxa etc.
  • Granules: There are pets which refuse tablets, for them granules are an easier method to feed. Best granules to deworm pets are Panacur Worming Granules, Granofen Granules etc.
  • Spot-ons: Revolution for dogs, Revolution for cats.
